POSITION: ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST
UNIT: DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
SALARY: $32.99 - $45.46
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The position of Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the preparation, working and processing of ultrasound exams to produce high quality studies for interpretation.
HOURS:
Must be available 7 days a week - days, evenings, nights, weekends and vacation coverage, and/or statutory holiday - 7.5 hour shifts. In addition, the non-availability requirements of the Collective Agreement must be met. The successful candidate must also be available for short notice relief calls.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
- Current registration with CARDUP is required
- Current BCLS certificate
- Experience with Cerner HIS and GE Centricity PACS preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate ultrasound experience is preferred
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general sonography
- Vascular, Obstetrical and Musculoskeletal experience preferred
- Proficient in interventional ultrasound procedures
- Ability to exercise good judgment and application of practical and theoretical ultrasound knowledge
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and accurately
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education and affiliation with Ultrasound Professional Associations
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Satisfactory attendance record as per the STEGH Attendance Management Program
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values.
Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work.
