HR Generalist

Contract length - 18 months (Hybrid work)

 

Job Overview

The HR Generalist is part of the Human Resources department and is responsible for delivering a full range of HR services to managers and employees across Canada or in their designated region. Duties include overseeing the onboarding process of new employees, training and informing employees about company policies and procedures, and providing support to the Canadian team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and solutions to HR related challenges working with various leaders across the organization.
  • Become the “go-to” HR resource in their designated region – provide guidance and advice to all stakeholders for all HR related functions including but not limited to interpretation of company policies and procedures, recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
  • Ensure federal/provincial laws compliance is maintained concerning confidentiality, hiring, terminations and resignations
  • Thoroughly investigate and report on employee relations issues.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary issues.
  • Handle termination-related matters.
  • Provide support to the recruitment team with candidate screening and assessment, if needed.
  • Promote positive employee relations.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree in Human Resources management
  • Minimum 5 years HR generalist experience
  • CHRP designation an asset
  • Experience with a variety of technologies including HRIS systems and extensive experience with Microsoft Office
  • A desire to take responsibility for your part in the work and always look for ways to help others
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and customer service centric
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken French would be an asset
