SALARY:  $102,848.85 to $128,013,60

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Known for its one of a kind culture, compassionate care, focus on high quality patient care and staff and physician engagement, St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is seeking a highly qualified, seasoned and innovative Manager for Information Technology Services (ITS) - Operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Information Technology, this thoughtful leader will be vital in providing operational direction, resource management, and leadership for all ITS services including Biomedical Engineering throughout the Hospital including corporate technology infrastructure, systems, services and cyber security.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ITS Manager will effectively collaborate with internal hospital partners, community stakeholders and vendors, as required to identify opportunities for innovation, system wide improvement, and partnerships to ensure the needs and interest of the hospital are being met.  In addition, the Manager will oversee all ITS operations, including:, IT infrastructure, devices (endpoint computer and related devices), network and telecommunications, corporate applications,  and ITS security/cyber security programs and risk management.  In addition, the Manager will:

  • Oversee the development for policies, processes, and procedures to ensure effective and effective ITS operations
  • Provide oversight and guidance to safeguard corporate data and personal health information.
  • Oversee the continued development and sustainment of Cybersecurity
  • Collaborate with internal hospital partners and stakeholders to build and enhance relationships in alignment with strategic priorities
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams throughout the organization
  • Oversee development of the Information Technology Services Team's objectives
  • Prepare, monitor and report on operating budgets

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering,  Business, or a related field required
  • Degree in a related field with experience in the healthcare field or similar large scale, service-based environment preferred
  • A minimum of Three to Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in Information Technology required
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in multiple Information Technology disciplines/functional areas preferred
  • Proven experience leading and facilitating cross-functional teams in a healthcare (or similar setting), and the ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders to balance the needs and interests of diverse groups while maintaining alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading major technology process improvements, and transformational projects, with experience in effective change management
  • Knowledge of PC hardware/architecture and software applications, including Windows, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Server 2016 or newer, cyber security applications and tools, and a general understanding of digital health systems (Oracle Health/Cerner preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences
  • Experience working within a unionized and non-union environment with an understanding of labour relations;
  • Demonstrated experience with managing multiple competing and complex priorities
  • Experience in a LEAN environment, preferred
  • Demonstrated values based leadership
  • Evidence of innovative leadership skills and a proven ability to foster a collaborative team approach, informed by evidence or leading practice, to guide decision making
  • Strong business acumen, human resource management experience, including planning, implementing, and analyzing data and outcomes
  • Proven experience in program development, evaluation and sustainability
  • Demonstrated personal practice of cultivating emotional intelligence and evidence of learning agility

 

Successful candidates must provide evidence of having received a full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada
